Why is the thread count different on my spigot than the water hose? The threads on the spigot are tighter like a machine thread and the water hose is much wider. Hose won't tighten to spigot. Don't they make an adaptor for this?

Hi Kmterry,

Is this "spigot" a laundry faucet on a sink?

If your spigot is on a sink and it has a more machined thread than a hose end then it is very likely that the AERATOR is missing from the spout end of the faucet.

If this is the case, then they make an AERATOR to fit the end of the faucet. They even make a threaded aerator x hose adapter which is what I believe you are looking for... see images. They only make a few different threaded aerators that adapt to from sink faucet to hose so worst case you should only need to buy a few different kinds and see which one fits. Check with a local PLUMBING SUPPLY company for best chances at finding the correct part.

Let me know how you make out, OK?
