I saw this movie when I was a little kid, I watched it a lot during the late 90's, being born in 91, it has been burned into my early childhood memories and I can not recall the title! I could have been made in the 80's or early 90's Im not sure, the animation was very beautiful!
Beginning:
So this high school boy lets say, could be a college student, is attending this Private school, where music has a big influence, his parents died and they wanted him to go there or something. But he's constantly late to his classes and forgetting his music, he plays violin I believe. He prefers to be in this abandon green house, he spends lots of time there taking care of the plants, and one day, a fairy reveals herself to him thanking him for all the work he's done in the garden, and invites him to take him into their world.
MIddle-ish:
They travel through a worm hole kind of thing, but he loses her grip, or it was caused by this little trouble maker (musical) 'Note', I can't quiet remember.
The boy falls out of the worm hole into this strange musical world.
In kind of a blank world, this sheet of music appears and notes come to life following along with the music playing. The boy uses one of the music notes to fly through the mess.
In another part of this 'world' its all marshmallow-y and creatures that look like marshmallows too, they are slow moving and like to sleep, and make you (the boy) fall asleep!
For some reason a fight starts between the boy and the trouble maker 'Note' I mentioned before. And it's a fight using music, and it destroys the world they are in, burns everything down, then everything freezes, the boy too, but not the 'Note' , he decides to give back the boys conductor stick and gives him a hug, and flew away. The boy unfreezes after a bit, and realize the pest is gone, and tries to get back to the fairy he met before.
There are many dazzling scenes the boy wanders through with other creatures and fairies. Always going along to classical music of some sort.
The boy some how finds the same fairy that brought him in, and they kind of have a love thing going on, but not everything is okay in this fairy world.
Ending:
So some toxic, monster, virus, I don't know, thing, is eating and destroying the fairy world, they fairies fight back but are not that strong, soon where the boy and his lady fairy friend are residing are hit by this monster.
The fairy girl tells him not to fight 'you're not from this world he can just go home' kind of thing (by the way, there isn't a lot of talking in this movie) but he goes on and conducts an army with music, I think (and wonder; How?). Near the end, he ends up trying to save his fairy lady friend, which gets him swallowed up, but he uses his conductor stick to try and kill the monster from the inside, but then his fairy lady friend uses her magic at some point and sends him back home, some how.
He awakes in his green house, the fairy lady and him exchange last minute words, he doesn't want to leave, he wants to stay with her, she's says he can't, and tells him something encouraging and that she's going to die (I think), she kisses him, and dies. He breaks down crying, picks himself up, goes back to school, and ends up conducting the class instead of playing violin.
The end.
If anyone has any idea, that would be awesome! I have no clue what this movie could be, but I remember it so well!
Thanks for your time!
