Hi - I am currently doing renovations in my basement and want to replace an 8 ft section of my hotwater baseboard in one of the rooms. What is the best way to do this (after I drain the system of course)? Do I heat up the copper coupler connceting the old baseboard to the mail supply pipe and then simply sweat on a new coupler on both ends? Is replaceing these overly hard or are there any tricks I should know? I feel comfortable sweating copper pipe together, so no issues there.

Also, I live in Canada and am looking for a supplier of SlantFin baseboard heaters who I can order from. No one carries these products in the town I live in. A local plumber told me he could bring in an 8 foot baseboard but wanted to charge $300 for it. Looking online I should be able to purchase this much cheaper. Any ideas where I can order one from and have it shipped to me?

Any ideas or advice would be great.

Thanks.
