If a car travels for a distance of 16 km at an average speed of 50 km/h and then for a distance of 52 km at an average speed of 80 km/h, what is the total time for the journey in minutes, to the nearest minute?

Calculate the time required for each of the two segments of the trip, and add them together to get the total time. Remember that the time required for each segment can be calculated from:
time = \frac {distance} {average\ speed}
This will give you the time in hours; convert to minutes by multiplying by 60 minutes/hour.
