Greetings all,
I've got a question for anyone who has experience with installing a new head unit in a car (or truck or minivan) and has had to splice into their existing vehicle wiring. My new unit will require I tie into three wires (SWC, parking brake circuit, and reverse lights) which are not part of the major connectors. I went to Radio Shack and found some splice kits which I think will work but would like to hear if any of you have used them and if they are acceptable for interior auto wire splicing. Here are links to the Radio Shack items:
Quick Splice Connector with Male Disconnector (3-Pack) - RadioShack.com (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3004023)
Wire Tap-In Squeeze Connectors (10-Pack) - RadioShack.com (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104093&numProdsPerPage=60)
Thanks in advance,
Elia
