Okay, next category is flora and fauna. If you are stumped by this check Google for definition. This one is not easy, but you can include flora and fauna from any part of the world and usually is plants found in the wild, unusual mammals (that are not pets). Probably incorporates some of what has gone before, but it is still a challenging category.

Yes, dandelion is flora, as is any kind of wild grass. Each country has interesting natural (non cultivated) plants. Hawaii has, of course, a variety of non cultivated flowers, grasses, trees, etc.

As for fauna, that would be the Canadian moose, beaver, in Africa the antelope, etc.

Ok, I've cheated because I'd like to know:

1. The "Ugly fruit" is legit. It is Ugli, not Ugly.
2. Googling about Vanilla is interesting. Some call it a fruit and some call it a legume. I have yet to find the "right" answer.

If any of you can find a source that confirms what Vanilla (or Vanilla Bean) is (fruit, vegetable or legume) I'd love to know... so that I can get it right when I get on Jeopardy :)

From About.com...

Vanilla Beans
Vanilla is the fruit of an orchid plant, which grows in the form of a bean pod. Although there are over 110 varieties of vanilla orchids, only one, Vanilla planifolia, produces the fruit which gives us 99 percent of commercial vanilla. Another genus, the Vanilla tahitensis grown in Tahiti, does produce fruit with a more pronounced aroma, but debatedly less flavor.

RickJ

Sincerely, I agree with you
You show correctly how to do
Zip: this category is through

Next category: Phrases that use the current letter, with next words containing the next letters. Words may NOT be repeated in an adjoining phrase.

ABCD: Alice Butler cusses demeaningly
BCDEF: Big cucumbers: do eat fanatically

So next will be a phrase starting with C: and following words beginning with D, E, F, etc. Ok?
