According to the FAR, closing costs from selling a home, including “brokerage fees”, are reimburseable, but costs from buying a home, including “real estate broker's fees and commissions”, are not; so, are real estate broker's fees and commissions from selling a home reimbursable? Information about this on the web is conflicting, and it does not help that the FAR inconsistently uses the term “brokerage fees” when selling but uses “real estate broker's fees and commissions” when buying.

I'm not sure what a "FAR" is, but remember that brokers' fees are paid by the seller, not the buyer (it's the seller who has a contract with a real estate agent that specifies the commission and/or fees to be paid when the house is sold). So the buyer normally has no brokerage fees to be reimbursed for.
