Is my landlord required by law to inform me when moving in a level 2 sex offender to the house I I rent a room in. I am a female and he live in a room on the same floor as my room. My landlord rents out rooms individually. Is this legal?
Below is a article we found on him.
*** persons name removed *** sex offender from Minnesota on the lam for the last seven years was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals here Tuesday.

*** persons name **** was taken into custody without incident after members of the Marshal's Fugitive Task Force tracked him to a public building downtown, said Cory Kammler, spokesman for the New York/New Jersey regional task force.

Kammler declined to disclose the exact location of the arrest other than to say it was a public building, but said Zemke was located through information developed by an informant.

Unless by your state law , they are required to notify anyone, no one has to notify you. They are required to report where they live to the state, but in most cases there are not requiremements that anyone living near them has to be notified.
