I had a partial replumbing with PEX tubing that required knockout of a bathroom wall. When I brought in the wall guy to repair the wall, he said the plumbers had done a terrible job by not securing the PEX tubing and that I'd have to spend another $1000 to have it done the right way. He is correct, terrible job, he is also so over priced I am on the floor laughing. He wants to charge $1K to secure a job that problably never cost $1K to start with

Yeah, the plumber did a real poor job here. The pipes should be secured properly. The tub/shower valve and the tub spout and shower head should also be secured properly. Heck, I might actually suggest ripping all of this out simply based on the fact that the guy did such shoddy work, so how can you trust the PEX piping now?

It should not cost you $1000.00 to simply secure the existing PEX... but good luck finding any plumber that will associate himself with that PEX work.

It could cost $1000.00 or more to repipe all all this and secure everything properly especially if the next guy pulls a plumbing permit as is required for all jobs like this... meant to stop exactly this kind of stuff.

Finally, if this plumber is really a plumber I would call him and tell him to fix this (although I probably wouldn't let him back in my house) or to refund your money or you will report him to the local plumbing inspector. He won't like that!
