I have TG440 Earth Stove gas fireplace. It has an optional fan with a dial-a-temp controller that I plug into a 120volt receptacle. I recently replaced my old honeywell mercury thermostat with an electronic honeywell RTH2310 and now the fan runs constantly. What have I done wrong?

What fan runs constantly, the heater or fireplace? They are not connected.
