I know if have the filter in the right way and when I replaced the filter I removed the negative battery terminal & pulled the fuse for the fuel pump. I couldn't find where to bleed off the fuel so the fuel drained out of the old filter and fuel line while disconecting. I can hear the fuel pump humming. I don't know if it needs primed or if after banging on the old filter and trying to start the car something might of came loose and go stuck in the fuel injectors? Any help would be appreciated :0)

Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn it to OFF, after the fuel pump stops running. Repeat this process several times. This will fully pressurize the fuel rail. Then, try to start the engine.

I would have removed the fuel pump fuse and started the car, allowing it to run until the engine stumbled. This would have depressurized the fuel system, prior to removing the fuel filter.
