I've recently found out my landlord haven't been paying her mortgage and the house is going to be going into foreclosure. I've only rented this property since May2010. However I am under a housing program. The landlord have paid her mortgage since before I moved in. Is this housing fraud and where can I go for help.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

As far as I know only California has a law addressing this issue.

However, you HAVE to continue to pay the rent. As long as she owns the property, she is entitled to the rent.

Are you in a position to make an offer on the house? If she's going to lose it anyway, you may be able to get it for just the balance of payments. What type of Housing program?

If a foreclosure is completed, you will have 90 days to vacate.

In general this is not considered fraud anywhere, And in general, there is nothing you can do, You will owe them the rent till the actual time that the foreclosure happens ( it can take months and months, over a year sometimes for a house to actually foreclose)

Once it does, it will be up to the new owner ( landlord) to decide what will happen at that point.

This is happening more and more as there are 1000's of foreclosures each month.
