I used to buy mine from K-Mart (brand names at good prices). Now I buy them from department stores like Sears or Penney's or Target (also brand name bras). White is standard, nude is nice, and black is good under dark clothes.

Beige or nude color bras are great because they won't show under white blouses. Black are good under dark sweaters.

Bali bras are a particularly good brand. You can go to dept. stores to try them on and find a style you like. Then you can get them on sale at the dept. stores or you can go to sites like www.onehanesplace.com and get them when they run specials.

Go to Victoria's secret. They will measure you and fit the correct bra for you. Improper fitting bras have been linked to breast cancer. It's pricey but worth it

I agree with LisaB4657. Bali makes some really nice bras which are readily available at most department stores and on-line.

Any good department store will be able to measure you for a good bra. I agree victoria secrets is very good. Also JC penneys have trained personnel. Also this is probably showing my age, but if you wash your bra's in washing machine use gentle and hang dry, will keep them nice longer. I also use the toothbrush rule when it comes to new bra's. You should change your toothbrush every 3months and same with your bra's. That's just how I was taught, but you can use whatever makes you feel better.

Sally,

Any department store that has a fairly large woman's personal apparel department should have staff that have been trained on how to measure for accurate bra sizes. Just go to the bra area and ask any female employee if someone is on duty to help you.

Your best bet is getting you size and fit measured in a department store and then going online to compare pricing and look at different styles available, I would also suggest you focus more on everyday comfort then sleezy brand names for example you probable want to get bali bra (http://kennethreeve.com/store/pc/showsearchresults.asp?resultCnt=20&idcategory=0&idSupplier=10&customfield=0&IDBrand=37), or maybe Werner's bras (http://kennethreeve.com/store/pc/showsearchresults.asp?IDBrand=42&iPageSize=12&pageStyle=) for everyday and more high end for that special occasion.
