Hello,
I have a 2-storey house with 2 full bathrooms on the 2nd floor; 1 full bathroom and 1 powder room on the 1st floor. Today I discovered a little flood in the powder room floor. I just couldn't tell where the water came from; since it smells a little, I suspect the toilet bowl overflowed somehow while we were out. Later, when I tried to take a shower on the 1st floor, water came up and did not drain. I started to turn on every faucet in the house 1 at a time and noticed that the water in the shower comes up each time. I also flushed the toilet bowl upstarirs and downstairs seprately; each time the water backs up into the shower and left some sewage debris in my stall! Urgh! I have poured an 80oz of Pro-strength Liquid-Plumr power gel but the drainage is still bad. My children and I could not use any sink, bathroom or shower without a flood in the shower stall. It is getting to be unhygenic and I know I may have to end up calling a plumber. Please, do you have any suggestions that can help me resolve the problem without being too costly?

Hey Mom,
You have a blockage downstream from the shower that must be snaked out. I can give you two options,
1) You can call in a drain cleaning company **OR**
2) you can rent a hand held power snake and we can walk you through the process.
Your choice, What's your pleasure? Tom
