I was recently arrested for a bench warrant issued from 2005. The main problem on top of I thought I was all paid up and finished with probation is that in these five years I have had minor traffic violations and the officers never said anything about a warrant. Now all the sudden I am a wanted man. Can they do this? I was arrested on a Friday night and had to spend a grueling three nights in general population not knowing my fate. On Monday, I was released upon paying the amount that I thought I paid years ago. It seems very backwards in getting revenue for the county in Georgia considering I had no notice of a warrant.

Hello b:

The warrant probably WAS issued 5 years ago, but the other cops didn't find it. It really makes NO difference, other than you're pissed off about it. You owed the money. They GOT their money, and they were a$$holish about how they collected it... What? Do you expect anything different from them? There's nothing you can do about it.
