Okay so this is a long question. So, to start, I dyed my hair black for a while earlier in the year, then I tried lightening it (because I want/ed to get it back to my natural blonde hair colour) so I lightened it to brown. Then I lightened it to a lighter brown but more auburn colour. Then about a month ago I lightened my hair again, to the bright/light orange colour it is now (avoiding my blonde roots of course so they wouldn't turn white) but the problem is During my lightening process my hair started breaking way to easily, but I cannot deal with the colour it is right now, I need for it to be blonde again, and very soon. I have an important business thing I have to go to and my hair is absolutely not flattering. So I need to know should I try lightening again or should I just put a Toner in it? Or is there an easier alternative, like a temporary hair dye I should use? I am afraid of my hair falling out.

Continuing to lighten your hair will certainly cause a lot of breakage. I would suggest a toner to get you to a "normal" color again, even if it isn't exactly the tone you were looking for. STOP lightening your hair IMMEDIATELY. Even one more process could cause massive amounts of hair to break off, requiring a full hair cut at the point of breakage. Which is more important to you... having the exact color you want right now, or having any length of hair left? Make sure your toner is a semi- or demi-permanent color to avoid harsher levels of developer and risk extra damage. Even better, call a professional and have them handle your hair from this point. A professional hairstylist can also provide you with a much needed deep conditioning treatment before you lose all your hair from over-processing it yourself.

If your hair is more broken towards the end id get it cut, also, stop lightening your hair.. go to the hairdressers and get your hair cut to get rid of all of the split ends/broken hair and buy some leave in conditioner with coconut extracts/oils and use over night.. use it perhaps once or twice a week to get your hair in better condition.. do this for about 2/3 weeks. When your hair is in better condition use a colour that's a little darker than what it is now, but I'm afraid you're going to have to wait it out before you can get it to your natural blonde colour, it will take a while but with regular cuts and conditionings your hair should be good to go! If I were you id rather have hair in great condition and the colour I want it even if it is a little shorter than I want then damaged, uneven coloured hair. Good luck!
