I had my 42 year old bathroom remodeled. They took the cast iron tub in and put in a steel tub. The tub creeks when you step in it and move around. Should it?
Also they stopped the tile right at the end of the bathtub. The walls right where the tile and wall meet are ruined and wet. The grout does not dry in some areas. The contractor has been giving me the run around. He ripped out the grout between the tub and tile, installed chalk with weep holes. The problem continued. Then he said there is a leak in the shampoo box, so he is going to rip that section of tile out and redo it. There are places where the grout does not dry. For example, our last shower was 8:30 am this morning. It's almost 11pm and the grout is still not dry in several areas.
Also the grout that was between the tub and 1st row of tile and the grout in the corners cracked within a week of the project being complete.
Any and all information would be helpful. I feel like I am getting the run around and that there are potentially big problems with the new shower/tub area.
Thank you!
