Had low water pressure.. got a new pump, checked the water level in well.good, now its worse, can't even keep water long enough to take a shower, desperate

Can you be more specific? What's the control box rang? Will the pump hold prime? What does it pump up to before it shuts off? What's your bladder tank setting with the pump shut off and the system bled down? Does the water just shut off or does it simply die down to a trickle?

Yea it holds prime it has good pressure for the first couple minutes then it just dies down and dribbles very slow.. I don't lose it totally everywhere but if I turn it off for a minute it builds back up fast.. but then run it a minute and its gone again I can't keep enough to take a shower without keep turning it off to build pressure back up.. there is no pressure gauge on the pump for me to see what it has in it.. I had to just set it by coming in and checking the water

You say you checked the water table in the well but was it checked when the pump ran dry? It sure sounds like you pump 6the water level down, wait a few minutes for it to build back up and everything starts up again. There should be a plug on top of the impeller housing that you prime the pump. You can install a pressure gage there. Regards, Tom

1. How large is your pressure tank? I ask that because even a thirty gallon tank should have enough reserve to give you a several minute shower, assuming the pump is delivering even a minimal amount of water.
2. At what points does your control switch turn your pump on and off?
3. "i can't keep enough to take a shower without keep turning it off to build pressure back up". You turn what off, the shower or the pump? If it's the shower, then it sounds to me like your pump simply can't keep up with demand. If that's the case, then try this: Run water from an outside faucet until you hear the switch "click" to turn on the pump. Run water into a five gallon bucket and time how long it takes to fill it. You would hope for no more than a minute. Do this three or four times. I'm going to guess that you are not even approaching 5 gallons a minute.
