I am 44 and in the process of changing doctors. My fiancé and I have not been trying to become pregnant at all. While changing doctors, I ran out of birth control and just assumed I can not get pregnant. My doctors office is not worried either as they did not prescribe anything for just in case. I am wondering now if I am wrong. My last period started November 4 and ended on the 10th. It has been three months since I have not been on birth control. It is now the 21st and I have been spotting a very light pink blood when I wipe. It has only happened twice and very small amounts both times. I started doing research as I am wondering what is going on. I have three kids, 2 girls 25 and 19, and one son, who is 21 and he just told me three days ago that he is being deployed to Afghanistan in less than two weeks. I am very very stressed about this. I am now wondering if I went and got myself pregnant (which if I am, we would be thrilled), or if I am stressing on my son's deployment. I have been assured he will be safe at a base fixing shot down aircraft and helicopters, but I am still going to worry until the day he comes home and leaves the army. Does anyone know what could be going on? My doctor appt is this week. I will be asking then. I just noticed I feel bloated and a little uneasy, not like starting my period, but kind fluttery in my stomach. It sort of feels like when you are ready to start your period. Funny thing is that I never ever know when I am going to start my period. I never have any signs. I am so curious what is happening. I have done so much research all saying it could be implantation, ovulation, or stress related. I guess I should fill in that we have an extremely active sex life. Since the last day of my period, we have had sex everyday once if not twice, except for one day. He is younger than I am, and well, I am the initiater. :) He is perfect for me. Anybody have any ideas? Should I stop worrying and just let happen what will be? I

You could try a pregnancy test and see what you get or just wait until you see the doctor since they will test there anyway.

It may be due to a pregnancy, or it could be due to hormonal changes, perhaps in relation to perimenopause.
