I would like to use an air admittance valve to terminate a 1 1/2 inch PVC vent that is venting a kitchen sink. The location is Queens, NY. Is there any issues with code?

Hi Ron...
Air admittance valves (AAV) are not really allowed anywhere, legally. If some city/town/state does allow them it would only be under special circumstances and you would need approval from the local plumbing inspector.
Living in a state with some of the strictest codes in the country suggests that you won't have much luck persuading the inspector in Queens, NY, but it never hurts to give a quick call over and simply ask him about your options.
Finally, code approved or not, if you have no vent now and you want to install a vent for now, let's say until you remodel the kitchen down the road, then I say an AAV is better than no vent, OK? Up to you...
Questions? Let me know...
Mark
PS: The AAV must be in under the sink and must remain accessible for future replacement.

Air admittance valve for inside the wall Mark's correct, You can not install a AAV inside a wall. It MUST be assessable where it can be serviced or replaced. Regards, Tom
