For the past year I have died my hair jet black from my natural colour (light brown) so about 8 times Ive died it black. And I now want to go back to my natural colour as Im sick of black, my hairs really long and thick so I don't want to bleach it because It will all fall out, its been 3 months since I last died it black and there's a massive contrast between my roots and hair colour, it looks awful. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can fade it quickly so my roots aren't so obvious?

Sorry, the black is never going to fade... if I were in your position I would lighten the black part with the powder lightener mixed with 30 volume crème peroxide cap it and lighten to a shade slightly lighter than your goal shade. I would probably go darker than the natural just to put less stress on it but you can go either way. Once your hair is lightened to a shade just barely lighter than you want rinse wash condition n dry your hair. Then you can apply a demipermanent shade that you choose. Pick a shade with an ashe base to keep from going brassy. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful...

Also its probably not going to fall out or break off. I have gone from black to platinum and kept my hair. As long as your not drying and straightening your hair without heat protection or swimming in chlorine all day, your hair should be able to stand up to the lightener.
