After just one winter of use my heater quit working when it calls for gas, gas came on but it would not ignite so I replaced the igniter, still did not work so I called a repair man he told me that the control board was bad so now I have a heater that is two years old that I paid approx 650 dollars and ihave to spend 190 dollars with hope that that will work, seems to be not a very good product.

Is there a question here or a statement of fact?

Both. First, is this common for being only two years old? And seems to me I should be able to get more than just two years out of a product before having to repair it to this much expense!

I am not sure about the repair history of your unit. I can tell you that I have seen control boards, motors, condensors etc, replaced on less than 1 year old products, even the big names-Carrier, York etc. Comolain to the company, maybe they'll help.

I have a Beacon-Morris BRU-45 purchased from Menards. After 2 seasons of use, the control board, or more accurately the igniter coil, quit working. I called the local Beacon-Morris sales and marketing contact and described my situation and was told I would have to purchase replacement parts through Menards for this unit; they were no help AT ALL. I would not recommend purchasing any Beacon-Morris product.

Clean the igniter sensor first before doing anything else . Just take it out carefully an use fine steel wool an rub the corrosion off , mine has done this more than once after sitting all summer then firing it up in the winter.
