I am pregnant with my third baby. And with my first I had to have an emergency c-section and with my second baby I had a planned c-section. With this baby I see my c-section doctor tomorrow to talk about If I should deliver or go ahead with the planned c-section again. Well starting last night I was having braxton hicks very mild with urges to push. I have never experienced urges to push except with my first baby and when I had urges to push with my first baby I was in labor at the hospital a week over due. So this time around I am only 32 weeks along and already having these urges. Am I going into labor? I have no bleeding, no bloody show, no mucus plug. Nothing.

If you are still feeling it, you really need to contact your doctor. It would be unusual for you to be that far into a labour and not realize it, but sometimes unusual things happen.

More than likely it is simply pressure from the baby shifting position, perhaps moving downward more. On occasion, if you have had any problems with having bowel movements, as constipation can sometimes be a problem in pregnancy, it might from that as well.

When in doubt, call your doctor or midwife.

Also, just to point out, I am 33 weeks pregnant and I have been experienceng the same things you speak of.

When I spoke to my obgyn a couple days ago, he had told me that it was the pressure of the baby.

NOW, you and I are different, so, I would do what Doula suggested and tell your Doctor.

Good Luck.

With ALL of my patients I insist that they go to the hospital when experiencing "urges to push."
