I have a IBM Intellistation E Pro with Pentium III 128mb Ram 20 Gb Hard Drive running Windows 98SE. 933 Processor.

I would like to upgrade to Windows Home Edition and would like to know if this machine as is will handle it without having 256 mb Ram.

I have no interest in Burning anything and just use the System for surfing and e-mail mostly.

Am I able to purchase Windows home Edition and erase 98SE and load the new version myself?

What do you think.

Tks.

In my opinion, it will be slower than syrup on a cold day.
I have found that the workable minimum spec is a 500Mhz CPU with 256 Mb RAM.
ANy less and it's amazingly slow.

Win98SE is perfectly suited to the machines specs, save your money and stick with it.
