I was beginning to go through an interesection going eastbound. An ambulance was procedding through the intersection with his lights on going northbound.I stopped for the ambulance and the person behind me slammed into the back of my vehicle?
Who's fault is this accident?

The person who slammed into the back of you. Every road user is required to allow enough space to stop safely if necessary. It doesn't matter if you stopped for an ambulance or because a child ran out in front of you. The other driver should have left enough distance between his car and yours to allow him to stop without hitting you.

Yes, the car behind you, they are required to keep enough distance ( yea like they really ever do) but it is a law they are suppose to. So the car behind you should have been ticketed for following too closely. Although in many areas officers are not required to ticket a car at a accident, since they did not witness it.

I agree on all counts. Is this a true situation and, if so, tell us what happened next

My son was in an accident recently .He was waiting for an amulance to proceed through the intersection and someone hit him from behind. It has already been determined that it was not his fault however my concern is my insurance company when I put through this claim. My son was driving my car and he has no been put on my policy yet. What should I do?

Yes they may, if you are not paying for a minor to be on the policy, depending on the terms in the policy they may or may not cover you with him driving.

Are you the car that was hit, or the car that did the hitting ?

If you were the one that got hit, hopefully the other partys insurance will just pay to fix your car ( your insurance status has no bearing on that)

It is only if they won't pay, that your insurance will have to get invovled.
