I was having sex with my fiancé and during this I noticed a really thick and fleshy blood clot on the bed, at that point I imediatley stopped because I was having some dicompfort, we then noticed really dark red blood all over myself and my fiancé? Im just wondering what this could be and if I should seek medical attention! Thank You

Is your period due?

During a woman's period, it is typical to see what you saw. However, they aren't blood clots. They are actually clumps of tissue that form the lining of the uterus. Usually they are accompanied with a lot of blood. This is normal. My guess is it was close to your time of the month and the lining of your uterus was beginning to shed, and the intercourse stimulated contractions of the cervix which forced the lining out.
