I have noticed a significant leak from what I assume to be my drain from my plastic bathroom tub. The water leaks through the floor, and has filled the "belly" under the tub section. The tub had been popping and creaking since I bought the place and I finally looked under the trailer since I had assumed water damage caused the floor to rot. I turned the water on, and went outside to look. There was a steady flow of water running down the inside of the skirting, dripping from the low spot of the belly membrane.

The carpet and floor are dry and solid next to the tub, the wall behind the faucet is dry. I stabbed the belly to get the water out, and I saw about 10+ gallons drain out under the trailer.

What should I do to fix my problem. I know I need to cut open the belly and let everything drain out and take a look at the drain first. Could it be a bad connection from the tub drain to the pipe? What kind of repair would I need to do if the floor is rotten? It is a early 90's single wide trailer.

The first thing you must do is pin-point the leak.
You must go under the unit and open up the sub flooe, (the belly) and locate the joint that's leaking. When you find it get back to me and we'll began a repair. Good luck, Tom

Looks like someone did some work on it and did not glue up their job. A pipe from the drain just sat ontop of a PVC DWV Trap Adapter and just dumped water all over the place. I couldn't get the pipe into the adapter because it was off center slightly.

How far was the offset? This "trap adapter", would it be a compression fitting and is the gasket still with it? Let me know, Toim
