What are you doing, painting the walls, putting a roof on, or moving major plumbing ?

If it's a minor repair that you do yourself the answer is no. However, If you have a major project and you hire a contractor or a tradesman then this is major repair and a permit will be pulled and the job inspected. Good luck, Tom

When in doubt call the building inspector and ask. Even somne DIY projects require a permit, if you need one and do not apply for one you can face an uphill battle which you will lose
