I'm installing stainless steel piping in a drain and pressure release system for jet fuel.(jp-8). I have used blue max pipe dope on some and stailess thread seal tape on some and both on others, and have numerous leaks on all applications. The system can't be down long enough for locktite 243 to cure. ( I have used loctite with success before but had cure time). Is there any known secrets to sealing threads or stopping leaks

Hi DM66...

What size piping are we talking about and how many wraps of stainless thread sealant tape are you wrapping around each thread? Let me know...

Hey Mark
1 and 2 inch pipe, we are using 3 to 4 wraps of tap. We have the most problems early when its cold. Doug

Up the thread wraps of stainless sealant tape to 8-10 wraps on the 1" and 10-12 wraps on the 2" and then use the blue max pipe dope and you should be all set!
