For the past few months (since july) I have been getting bladder infections left and right... I have been taking cranberry etc what else can I do to help prevent them? Does unprotected/protected sex make a difference? These are annoying and uncomfortable also I have never gotten so many in a row... roughly at least 5 since July... is it me? Or possibly my boyfriend? Any adivce is appreciated, also there is only one doctor where I live, and it takes hours to get in... are antibiotics my best best or is there any other ways?

I had a friend who had the same problem for about 2 years, she was so afraid she had some kind of horrible disease that she avoided going (silly!). Eventually I convinced her to go see the doc, he prescribed her antibiotics and her infection went away very quick and never came back again... I know each body is different, but it may just be as simple as that. I think my friend got lucky because a lot of the time if you leave something like that untreated it can develop into kidney problems! It sucks to wait around for your doctor but I'm not sure of any other thing you could take besides antibiotics if that is the case, since you are drinking cranberry it would help if it could! (Blueberry is good for this kind of thing too)
I looked up this site and used it for some of my info here, you could check it out if you would like to read up for yourself: http://adam.about.com/reports/Urinary-tract-infection.htm
It mostly is suggesting antibiotics as the best solution for a UTI. It does mention cranberries and blueberries as helpful but not something that can cure a UTI. Acidophilus a probiotic is also apparently supposed to help with preventing infections but again can't cure one ):
Good luck ! I hope you feel better soon
