I have four wires going to a double light switch and then to a GFCI and I want to add another receptacle after the GFCI can I just put in a standard receptacle outlet or do I need to put another GFCI in the circuit?

You only need a standard receptacle.

Be sure to connect to the LOAD terminals of the GFI.

How many wires go into the GFCI? You can "pass through" other outlets by using the "load side" of the GF. Take it out of the wall and you should see yellow tape covering 2 screws maked LOAD. Your next outlet wiring goes under these screws, black and white. Pigtail the ground and only put 1 wire under the green screw. You can continue wiring and all outlets downstream will be protected
