My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for awhile now.. give or take 6 months or more.. he's in the military so he's not home all the time, but there has been a few times where he has been home for a month or so every so often.. my question is, my husband is starting to think something is wrong with him, he believes that since I've already had a baby I can automatically get pregnant again.. although I've told him otherwise. So before we go to the doctor to find out anything id like to know some of your opinions as to why we haven't yet been able to conceive? If there's something that may help without having to go to the doctor, is it possible that he's just not home when I'm ovulating.. I don't know.. any advice?

Trying for six months, especially if he has been away for some of that time, is not very long. Although it's possible to get pregnant for long periods, it's only likely for a relatively short window each month.

I would learn to recognise your own signs of fertility, so you know when you have the best chance. Invest in an ovulation thermometer and learn how to use it.

Also, give your diet a make-over. Cut out all the processed and junk foods, cut back on coffee and alcohol, give up smoking. That means both of you.

Want to hear a horrible joke? Why does it take a million sperm to fertilise one egg? Because they are male and won't stop to ask for directions.

That's a good joke, I got to tell my husband that one.. and he smokes, so I guess ill tell him to cut back on that.. and I've been taking prenatal vitamins for about a week now.. he'll be home all of November so I'm hoping we'll finally conceive then! :)
