Bypassing the wiring and with the plug out the starter turns over great. I connect the battery leads I get nothing. I believe I need to rebuild the carb but do I have a fuse blown? I connect the battery to the wiring and I get nothing.

Check the solenoid.that is one of two possible. The other is to this connect the kill wire which is near the starter it has a round plug with the side coming out from the shroud being a black wire
