Hello,
I've tried to research this question on the interenet and other builder forums and can't find much information so wanted to ask here. We built a 2135 sq ft home in Texas and had agreed to close the day the cleaning crew was to clean. It's a long story but my husband was leaving the following day to go out of the country so thought we'd be OK. What we found was ONE woman who had partially cleaned but mostly it looked like the construction crew had just left. There was a HUGE pile of debris in the middle of the living room. No cabinets or baseboards had been cleaned, nor shelves, etc. What she did clean was the fiberglass tub and all sinks including a refinished 1920 claw foot tub and the windows. She used Comet on the tubs and sinks and now we have terrible scratches. She also scratched the windows and glass doors when cleaning them and removing the stickers. Our builder also left the exterior with tile, nails, and more which we have cleaned up ourselves. My question is what is 'normal' in exterior and interior cleaning? Our contract states 'broom ready' and we didn't know enough to ask in the beginning what that would include and he won't explain but says we agreed to close and he is not responsible for repairing these things. We fear this is going to turn into a nightmare. Can anyone give advice or possibly supply a list of what is generally included in both interior and exterior clean up?
Thank you in advance,
Sunny
