The ceiling outlet has four wires black, white, ground and red/white. The instructions say nothing of the red/white wire. The is no light in this fan, the wire harnes has black, white, blue, and green. I was going to wire green to ground, black and blue off the fan to the black from the ceiling, white to white and there sits the red/white, ties to what?

If there is two switches on the wall next to each other, then the RED/WHITE wires are the secant switches wires, if there are THREE switches on the wall and two places on the ceiling then RED/WHITE are the Third
Switches, OR if the is TWO switches in different spots that control the same light the RED/WHITE are the second switch wires... could also be something else depending on how old the house or apartment is

White to white and green to ground is correct. Assuming that there is a switch involved here, either the black wire or the red/white wire will be hot all the time and the other will go through the switch. Most likely the black will be hot all the time and the red/white switched. Connect the fan black and blue wires to the wire in the ceiling that is switched. Cap the other with a wire nut.
