My dad once taped me an alternative version of Aladdin which I really liked. In this version there are real actors unlike in the Disney version. Aladdin has a friend who is a pickpocket and the genie is a female genie who falls in love with Aladdin herself. When Aladdin falls in love with the princess the genie gives him and his friend fone clothes etc. Then midway through the film she falls in the hands of the African magician who learnt of Aladdin's prosperity from a crystal ball and knows Aladdin knows the secret of the lamp. At the wedding everything Aladdin and his friend were given by the genie vanishes (the genie having previously warned them this would happen ifsomeone else claimed the lamp and they are recognised. I think also at one point the African magician wished to be sultan so when the sultan's clothes vanish the princess realises it is not really her father but her uncle who has usurped the throne (as her uncle had a scar on his body and her father didn't or the other way round). I think at the end wehen Aladdin married the princess the genie frets that he did not have a twin like the sultan did. The genie then creates a new Aladdin who does not know anyone but the genie. He claims not to know his pickpocket friend but then the pickpocket friend gets greeted by the real Aladdin who returns with the princess. Do you know what this version is called? Thanks.
