I need help fast. Can my builder sel my land to someone else after he builds the house on it,if I don't agree to close without the house being finished? He says he needs his money so He can finish the work on my house. He and the agent fr va wants meto lie to th bank and say the house is finished.I signed a guit claim deed over to my builder so he could get started on the house. He said the house would be finished in 3 mnths but it as been 7 months and he has spent my loan money to build his houses with and now he doesn't have any money to finish my house. So he wants me to close now.So can he sale my house to someone else. I have put a lot of my own money and time in this house. Please help me.

Yes, he can sell the house to someone else. Why in the world would you give the builder a quit claim deed for your property?? If I were you I would close immediately so that the property isn't sold out from under you. Then sue the builder if they don't finish the house.

You never sign the property over to the builder, they build a house on YOUR property. This sounds very very illegal and fishy to me. I would have an attorney involved in the morning and be demanding my property signed back over to me.

The builder would either have you get a construction loan.
