I no longer work for the company that has my 401k plan.. I have contacted them numerous times but they will not get back to me.. My relationship with them is strained and they will not help me.. Do I have any other recourse? I am 58 years old and was told I shouldn't have a problem.

Your ex-employer shouldn't HAVE to do anything. Contact the 401K plan administrators... the contact info should be on the 401K Statements you receive.

Yes, where you used to work does not "have" your 401K. They merely send the money to the plan admin who handles the 401K. You should be aware of who this is, as they should be mailing you on a regular basis, reports of how the funds are being handled and also at the end of the year, statements for tax purposes
