Since this is in law, I am going with a legal answer, not a moral one.

Do not confess, if you are accused get a good attorney. It will be up to them to prove that you were short money, and took it. It may be easy to prove your register was short but harder to prove it was not because you gave wrong change of money.

That is why you need an attorney.

From the moral side, ( you give them the money back, tell them you are sorry and resign from your job)

Im acctually not sure if I have a record the last time I got caught the officer said that they would put it on my provincial record which means the cops can look but others cant... Also I was wondering wheather I should quit or not?

I have a few questions:
-what are the chances of me going to jail?
-what if I can't afford a attorny?
-if caught and prosecuted what can I do and can't do? Ex. Get another job, go to school then find a job in health care.
-what should I do since I haven't been caught yet?

PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!
