My 99 Honda Civic will sometimes take 2 or 3 minutes of holding the ignition key on while simultaneously pumping the gas pedal before it will start. When it finally does catch, it struggles for a while to fully start as though it is being starved of fuel. This only happens the first time I start it in the morning. After it warms up, it starts perfectly well for the rest of the day, even when I park it for eight hours while I am at work. This went on for about ten days then all of a sudden the problem went away for a week but now it has returned. Any suggestions?

. Replace the spark plugs (NGK only), if they have not been changed in the last three years.

. Replace the fuel filter, if it has not been changed in the last 60,000 miles or 4 years.

I've had 3 Hondas and most starting problems were solved with drygas. One was brand new and full of water in the lines immediately. Don't know why. Not the gas station; I went to many.
