If a person is being held in a South Carolina facility and has been granted parole, but has something outstanding in Pennsylvania how long does Pennsylvania have to extradite?

What do you mean by "something outstanding?" A warrant? Pending charges?

Hello s:

They need to be there the DAY he's released, or they're going to miss him. Pennsylvania was informed of his release, and South Carolina isn't going to hold him.

Of course, South Carolina COULD hold him, but it wouldn't make sense for them to do so. That doesn't mean cops NEED to make sense... They don't.

I believe it is a failure to appear, but we had no idea he needed to appear there for anything. We have never lived in Pennsylvania and have no idea what this is about. They want talk to me and my husband can't call right now considering he is waiting to be released, he was granted parole last week here and we are just trying to find out when he will be able to come home and how long they can hold him for Pennsylvania.

If he has a parole date, he should be released from prison on that date.

One of three things can happen if there is a warrant out for him. If the other state does nothing, he will merely walk out the door.

If the other state notifies the local sheriff or police they can be there to pick him up the second he is released and held for a time to allow them to come get him.

More common the other state will just be there to pick him up
