I was rear ended while I was stopped at a red light, the driver and I exchanged personal info (names phone numbers not insurance info). Problem is, I found out my insurance lapsed two days ago (I didn't have enough in my bank account for them to take it out). What do I do now?

Borrow the money ASAP and get the policy reinstated.. Most of the time they will reinstate without a lapse but you have to do it quick.

Agree with smoothy - and do it ASAP. But why didn't you get the other person's insurance info? Do you not care about the damage to your car? I assume that there was accident investigation by the police, correct?

I missed the no insurance info exchanged part. You really, REALLY should have done that because the person doing the rear-ending... not the person being rear-ended is generally found to be at fault except in a few rare circumstances.

If there was damage at all I would have called the cops... just to be sure there was an official report.
