I started spotting brown two days ago, then after sex I started with bright red blood. Not enough to even soak a pad in a day. Is there reason for concern or it is the norm? I had cramps last night, but they have subsided now

Yes, my normal period would start on (or around the 15th) if I wasn`t expecting. I`m currently approx 13 weeks

Most likely it is from the intercourse, can be normal to have some spotting or light bleeding, but it should be short term, usually just the next day or two. The cramping may be from the intercourse as well.

Always wise to let your doctor or midwife know when you have bleeding, however. Most likely they won't be too concerned.

If it you have cramping and bleeding at other times, let them know. If you have the same thing continue to happen after sex, they may suggest you refrain from intercourse for awhile, but that will be very individual. Quite likely an ultrasound would be done to check location of the placenta if bleeding continues.
