Hello Captain:
Only one. After that, you're dead...
Bwa, ha ha ha. Sorry. You opened yourself up to that one.
So, what is it you want to know? How many US states have the death penalty?? I don't know. I'm going to say 49 + the feds.

Or do you mean injection vs gas, etc. And which country are you referring to?

Hello again, Captain:
Ohh, is that what you want to know? Ok.
There's the gas chamber. There's being shot in the back of the head in Iran. There's losing a hand and bleeding to death in Saudi Arabia. There's stoning in India. There's hanging in Utah. There's being raped by your cellmate Bubba, in California (ok, I made that one up). There's the needle, but that's fallen into disrepute. Oh yeah. There's being tortured to death in Gitmo. There's the electric chair in South Carolina. There's a firing squad in some state, or other.
And, the other bad thing about the death penalty is we make those people serve an ordinary life sentence, and THEN we kill 'em.

I was talking about all countries, and all states, nothing in particular.

Well, Canada doesn't have the death penalty, except in the military, and then, only for treason.
But if you were looking for the different ways to execute people around the world, excon gave you many good examples in post #4.
