You left out some important information such as your age and whether you use any kind of birth control, and if so, what kind.

With that said, it is always advisable to take a hpt with first morning urine as that is when the concentration of the pregnancy hormone called hcg is at the highest levels.

I believe we discussed that here (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/pregnancy-new-motherhood/pregnancy-50441.html), didn't we?

While you are always regular, every once in a while there is a "glitch" in our hormones that will cause a lighter or unusual period. This can occur until around the age of 28.

Maybe try taking a test again using first morning urine, then if you continue to be late a visit to your doctor may be in order.

It is recommended that you report to your Doctor to confirm the result of a Home Pregnancy Test. They are considered accurate, but false positives do occur.

However, spotting is common days before the period is due. Spotting that occurs about a week before the cycle is due - and only lasts for less than one day - is possibly considered implantation spotting.

Hope this answers your question!
