Ok, here is another one and I am not sure if I like this one and it may be to easy to figure out but I will start with this one and go from there.

Were the bodies floating people who had previously been on the yacht?

Did they voluntarily go in the water? Were they forced into the water? Did they leave the yacht because they feared something on the yacht? Were they in the water to go swimming?

Was there any damage to the bodies? Any visible blood? Had they been shot? Stabbed? Attacked by a shark?

PS - When I want to answer multiple questions, I open another page (another browser), then I hit the quote button, and copy and paste to my original page.

Did they die of natural causes? I don't think the way they died was really natural, so no.

I have heard of a movie about this... part trailer but didn't watch it cause it was broadcasted late at night.

The yacht didn't have any ladder for the swimmers to be able to get on the yacht again (and the yacht had high 'walls' if I can call the outer side of the boat like that), hence they were forced to stay in the water, and eventually died. Is that it?

Well, initially, all the people jump in the water to go swimming, but nobody thought about seeing if they had a way back to the yacht.

Okay, he's a DJ. He snuck out during his shift to kill his wife, thinking he'd have an alibi. As he was returning, the songs he had set to play stopped and he wasn't there to fix the problem. Ruined his alibi, and now he knows he'll be suspected in her death.

As for the quoting, just copy/paste the entire thread, then just highlight each question and use the quote thing at the top of the box to get it as a quote. They can all be answered individually that way -- and you'll actually be posting something in the thread instead of getting that silly message yelling at you.

I knew the first one about the yacht, so I guess it doesn't matter that I missed it.

And you may or may not be getting them from the same site, because the same puzzles are on 3 million different sites. At least all the "classic" ones are, and there's a lot of them. I've seen the one about the radio (there's more than one of those), but I've never looked at the answer. I try not to look at too many answers while I'm digging one out. They did a story that involved that type of thing on Magnum once. The difference was the lady played an repeat recording - like how the talk shows do when someone's on vacation or on a holiday. So she was replaying an entire show she did and slipped out to kill someone, when everyone thought she was live. Except Magnum recognized it cause he'd been at the studio earlier when she was doing that particular show.

By the way, it also helps if you post the question again when a new page hits, so someone like me doesn't come to 9 pages of a thread and wonder what the heck puzzle you're on.

And since I still time availability until about Wednesday, I'm going to throw one in while I can.

Good questions already. Was the man an astronaut?

Was he about to go to space if so?

Did he like hamburgers?

So it sounds like something happened on the radio that told the man his wife was cheating and he therefore drove home and shot her. We just need to find out what was said to solve this puzzle?

Did the man call into the radio station?

Looking back at the answers, you said she didn't win a contest yet and you weren't sure how to answer the question about the time being relevant. I'm thinking of Regis and Kelly here :p but:

Did the radio station call her to play in a contest?

Was it at night and a man answered her phone? (though that seems pretty dumb - if she's having an affair, why would he answer the phone? If not, the husband killed her for nothing.)

I assume you mean "the man" that J-Lo asked about you assumed to be the "man on the radio," as in the DJ?

OK, I guess we need to clear this up.

There's a man involved, and when she asked about another man, I was referring to this man that we didn't yet know anything about. The DJ could as easily be a woman, and is not the same person I was referring to. So you asked about the "man on the radio," and I assumed you meant the DJ because we had not established any info yet about this "other man."

However, if you were referring to the as-yet-unknown man, the answer to all 3 questions would still be No.

So the announcer on the radio should be called the DJ I guess.

I guess I'm a little late to the party.

Well, jeez, then never mind everything I just said to Unky.

I said at the start that this was kind of stupid. Not only that the man would answer the phone, but also that the guy in the car would make a judgment on such flimsy evidence. But sometimes people's motivations in these things leave a bit to be desired.

Just as a note, there's nothing in the answer saying it's at night. The only reason I questioned the time being relevant is that usually this happens during certain shows, or at some specified time interval. However, to say yes to that seemed misleading. I also knew where he was going wasn't relevant, but it was kind of relevant that wherever it was, they'd expect him to be gone a while. (Assuming she really was having an affair.)

Two men are having a drink in their apartment several floors up. First man has a heart attack and dies, and as he falls over he knocks into second man. Second man falls into window, smashes window, impales himself on broken window frame and dies. As he falls he drops the ice bucket he was holding. Ice bucket falls out of window and hits third man, who was walking by, on head - killing him. Ice and glass fall on pavement along with one dead man.

I don't think your yes about the function of the building necessarily verified it was a hospital. Was it a hospital?
Is the building residential?
Commercial?
Governmental?
A prison?

Did the ice cubes come from a drink?
Is an ice vending machine involved?
Is a truck carrying ice cubes involved?

We know one is natural causes and one is a murder. Is the third a murder?
Natural causes?
Accidental?

Is it relevant what the men do for employment?

One man is dead in the building. Did another man fall through the window of the building? If so, did he land on a vehicle? If so, did that cause the third death? (I know - this is probably too reasonable.)

Yeah, but not like how you're trying to think of it. You're concentrating on the idea that he fell onto or into something. Actually, when I'm on the other side asking them, I keep them all in a little Wordpad file and I review them frequently.

From the clues I have gathered, I am going to go with a joke that I like to hear. I can't quite quote it the way the jokes goes, but I will give enough to tell the main parts.

A man who lives on the third floor of an apartment suspects his wife of cheating and rushes home to try and catch her in the act. He comes home and finds nothing. He is sure there has to be someone there though so he searches everywhere and finally he goes out on the balcony and sees fingers on the ledge. So he starts hitting them and the guy doesn't let go so he gets a hammer and beats his fingers until the man lets go. Luckily, the man fell in the bushes and survived. The guy then gets so angry that he gets the refrigerator and throws out the door and hits the man and kills him. In all the panic, he has a heart attack and dies.

The man who got killed by the refrigerator actually lived above them and was out on his balcony exercising when he fell over the ledge and was lucky enough to grab on the ledge on the floor below him.

The third guy was in the refrigerator.

3 guys dead and ridiculous. Haha. The joke version sounds better than what I said though.

A drunk, drink in hand, fell out of a hot air balloon, landing on another man, killing him. The third guy died of a heart attack from just witnessing the event.

You said it was ridiculous, so this can't be right since it happens all the time in real life.

Well, I'd agree except for that balloon thing - how often do drunk people fall out of balloons?

Maybe he jumped out of the balloon, landing on the guy in the forest and killing him, a boat with a cabin came rushing in from a hurricane, smashing both guys and passengers up against some trees, and a guy standing by, who was deserted there, suddenly saw the dead people, and somehow seeing them reminded him of his dead wife and made him wonder if it was really albatross soup, and thinking it might be his wide, he killed himself, while over nearby was a plane that crashed earlier, and when they got the black box from it, discovered that the pilot had just discovered his wife was having an affair and flew the plane into the forest killing himself.

Sorry for the long general delay. I was in the middle of PMing J-Lo when I suddenly remembered some place I had to be that was getting ready to close, so I just jumped up and took off. And ran some other errands while I was out.

And made the mistake of stopping at my brother's (because I don't know how to leave). And his computer decided to get locked up so I couldn't even check in from there.

OK. The woman was the wife of one of the men. He comes home and finds her having a kinky time with a man in a bath full of ice-cubes. He pushes the bath tub out of the window. The bath hits a passerby killing him. The other man is killed but is still in the bath tub along with the wife (who might be dead or alive). The husband dies of a heart attack.

That's a very good version, but not it. But you are getting the right idea.

As for doing kinky things in a bathtub full of ice -- that's just outright sadistic. Ukk! I said ridiculous, not S&M. ;)

Ok, I need to differentiate the three men.

Man 3: Accidental; sort of fell through a window

Two? All of them? Unknown, so irrelevant.
Are there any other relevant persons besides the three men involved?
- Women? Yes.
- Men? No.
Did they all die about the same time? Yes.
Did a frozen corpse covered in ice somehow end up going out of the window and killing another person? No, but you have some interesting ideas there.

OK... I'm having a hard time dealing with an issue and am finally going to post something. I will only say it's something I think a little unfair but can't say why.

So I will say that you may have difficulty figuring out what the "something" is. I can tell by the questions being asked. I also can't say why this is.

So I am just going to say to stop worrying about the "something" for right now and simply know that it exists. I mean, you can try if you want to. But I'd rather concentrate on trying to get the rest of the circumstances, simply cause it's the fairest thing to do. We'll see how that goes, and I'll decide later what else I might explain.

Ok, so most part fit in so far, besides the why behind the heart attack.

Man 1 knew somewhat that a man was having an affair with his wife. He got in the apartment, but man 3, who was the culprit, was hiding in a fridge. He knew that someone was here, but didn't know where. He glanced at his window to see a man underneath, thinking that he was the one. Maybe, Man 2 just then got out of the building. So, Man 1 pushed the fridge through his window, breaking the glass and causing it to fall on Man 2, who died then. The fridge slammed open, scattering ice on the pavement, with the now dead Man 3 inside.

So far so good?

Was Man 1 feeling guilty about what he just did?
Was he panicked?
Was the panic the source of his heart attack?

So, Man 1 pushed the fridge through his window, breaking the glass and causing it to fall on Man 2, who died then. The fridge slammed open, scattering ice on the pavement, with the now dead Man 3 inside.

That part's pretty much there. There's a minor extra detail about Man 2 in there, but nothing important.

So far so good?

Mostly.

Was Man 1 feeling guilty about what he just did?
Was he panicked?
Was the panic the source of his heart attack?

Nope. (Although, since I get panic attacks, thankfully not for a few years, I could fully understand why panic would do that.)

Did the behaviour of his wife hint at Man 1 that she just had an affair?
Is that even relevant, lol?

Was Man 2 looking at Man 1 when he saw him down?

Was Man 1's heart attack caused by the death of any of the other man?
Was his heart attack due to his age?
Was his heart attack due to his wife?

You know, not really. I did say we were just down to a difference in detail - I gave you the option of figuring out the final details. You chose to continue. :p

Was Man 2 looking at Man 1 when he saw him down?

Irrelevant. That little detail isn't important. I wouldn't worry about it. You've basically already figured out the main difference there - that he had just come out of the building.

Was Man 1's heart attack caused by the death of any of the other man?

Not directly by a death itself.

Was his heart attack due to his age?
Was his heart attack due to his wife?

No.

Was Man 1's heart attack due to pushing the heavy fridge out of the window the cause of his heart attack?

Yup. You know QLP said something of the sort with that tub full of ice thing.

The only minor detail about the man coming from the building is that he was good looking, and looked to be rather in a hurry, making him look a little suspect. (I told you it wasn't important.)

And all that would be left is what made the man suspicious of the affair... he didn't necessarily already know and his wife gave nothing away. The guy was in the fridge so he didn't see him or catch them at anything (like ice tub diving) - what's the only thing that sounds logical?

And other than that, we're done.

Well, I hear and talk French nearly everyday everywhere. So, I won't be forgetting that easily ;)

I think I told you I checked up on that little <cough> island of yours recently. I admit I would've sworn you once said you were in Australia. Where'd I get that idea? So I got curious and looked the place up. Surprise! I can't say as my geography is the best. OK, it's pretty lousy. (I'm still working on Europe - it would help if they'd stop changing something every two years.) But I read about the history of the Dutch, and then the French. And then Britain took over, like they did everything else. Independence 1968. Parliamentary republic 1992? (I remember numbers, not languages.) Official language English, but also French and Creole popular. Make up of Muslin, Indian, Creole, some European. Interesting little melting pot, just like us.

Yup, I have a Chinese background.

The Indian make up the majority, then we have the Creole (from Africa mainly), then the Muslim and the Chinese. European are the results of tourists. Yes, the numbers are correct :)

I just read my question again... and I repeated myself =S what a bad sentence structure >.<

They left when they realised that Mauritius was not an island for them. From my history classes, we were told that the slaves they brought from Africa made riots, the rats (that they themselves brought when they travel) ate their supplies and the frequent cyclones destroyed their wood/straw houses and their crops of sugarcane. They 'fled' the country after this, to be later taken by the French.

I guess I owe QLP an explanation.

Adam's "joke" was actually a different version of the answer, but he didn't realize it. Not sure if someone made a joke of the puzzle, or more likely made a puzzle of the joke. Adam is welcome to tell his joke in full proper manner if he likes, or I might, later when I'm awake.

Some details were different, so it was a bit different version, but the main gist was there. I originally just pretended, haha, funny, but didn't acknowledge it was a different solution. (Told him through PM.) And then just kept it going.

J-Lo figured out what was going on and PM'ed me about it, and dropped out. I had some guilt about letting it go on, wondering if no one would ever solve it, thinking Adam's little "joke" was wrong, when it was 80% the same. I noticed QLP dancing around everything with that ice except for the obvious. I began to believe no one would guess the fridge, thinking Adam's joke was wrong.

But... y'all were doing pretty good at solving despite that, so I let it go. But in realty, Adam posted the answer with his "joke" but a slight variation, long ago.

Now... you tell me. Someone hiding in a refrigerator? How does one fit into a refrigerator? And actually shoving one through a window is about as silly.

Hmm. Too bad the slaves they brought here weren't able to riot as well.

Though really, sounds typical of the problems existing at that kind of time.

THE REFRIGERATOR

It was getting a little crowded in Heaven, so God decided to change the admittance policy. The new law was that, in order to get into Heaven, you had to have a really bad day the day you died. The policy would go into effect at noon the following day. So the next day at 12:01 the first person came to the gates of Heaven.

The angel at the gate, remembering the new law, promptly asked the man, "Before I can let you in, I need you to tell me about the day you died.

"No problem," said the man. "Well, for some time now, I've thought my wife was having an affair. I believed that each day on her lunch hour, she'd bring her lover home to our 25th floor apartment and have sex with him. So today I was going to come home to catch them. Well, I got there and busted in and immediately began searching for this guy. My wife was naked and yelling at me as I searched the entire apartment. But, damn it, I couldn't find him!

Just as I was about to give up, I happened to glance out onto the balcony and noticed that there was a man hanging off the edge by his fingertips! The nerve of that guy to think he could hide from me! Well, I ran out there and promptly stomped on his fingers until he fell to the ground. But, wouldn't you know it, he landed in some bushes that broke his fall, and he didn't die. In a rage I went back inside to get the first thing I could find to throw at him. And oddly enough, the first thing I could grab was the refrigerator. I unplugged it, pushed it out onto the balcony and heaved it over the side. It plummeted 25 stories and crushed him!

The excitement of the moment was so great that right after that I had a heart attack and died almost instantly."

The angel sat back and thought for a moment. Technically, the guy DID have a bad day, and it WAS a crime of passion, so he announced, "Ok, sir. Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven," and let him in.

A few seconds later the next guy came up. "Ok. Here's the rule. Before I can let you in, I need to hear about the day you died."

"Sure thing," the man replied. "But you're not going to believe this. I was out on the balcony of my 26th floor apartment doing my daily exercises when I got a little carried away and accidentally fell over the side!

Luckily however, I was able to catch myself by my fingertips on the balcony directly beneath mine. When all of a sudden this crazy man comes running out of his apartment and starts cussing and stomping on my fingers! Well of course I fall. I hit some trees and bushes on the way down which broke my fall so I didn't die right away. As I'm laying there face up on the ground, unable to move and in excruciating pain, I see the man push his refrigerator, of all things, over the ledge and it falls directly on top of me and kills me!"

The angel is quietly laughing to himself as the man finishes his story. "I could get used to this new policy," he thinks to himself. "Very well," the angel announces. "Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven," and he lets the man enter.

A few seconds later the third man in line comes up to the gate. "Tell me about the day you died," said the angel.

"Ok. Picture this," says the man. "I'm naked inside a refrigerator... "

This is one the main "classics" (Adam probably already found it and peaked), but a shorter one, I think.

I just read over the baseball one. I'm sure I could have thought of a baseball mask eventually, but I believe I totally confused the original question - like I was thinking the man in the mask was waiting in his home, and therefore he didn't want to go there cause the mask guy would be there. (Rather than mask man is here and he needs to stay here and play.)

Not like I really watch this kind of stuff, but maybe too much Halloween on the brain or something.
