Hi,
I recently got a cheap outdoor UHF+VHF TV antenna and tried fixing it. I got it up on my ground floor roof (that sort of extension towards the porch where you can park your car in). But the antenna cable wouldn't fit into the hole I drilled in my sliding door. So I decided to cut of the rubber part of the cable's head (is that how you call it?). So I kind of ruined the thing but the metal wire was still attached so I could still get a reception. But then the motor of the antenna (the motor gets its power supply from the same cable) couldn't work so I figure it must have been because of the ruined cable head (I taped it up with duct tape).
So I tried "adjusting" the head, twisting it a bit and pulling out the tape, and then the thing completely came apart. So now I have a UHF+VHF TV antenna cable with no head. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to reattach the head? I was thinking of just replacing the entire length of cable but I think the other end of the cable is soldered to the antenna. So unless I can reattach the head, this antenna is pretty useless for me. Not to mention I wasted an entire day putting it up. Any help would be great :) Thanks.
