When you purchase a townhome everything belongs to you, the building, land, and air above, no one else has the right to run anything through your legal "fee simple" home, meaning water lines, sewer lines, electrical lines, phone line, gas piping,TV lines, or any other utility not mentioned. Townhomes are separated by a legal recorded property line and each owner has legal right to that property and can deny any of the above mentioned utilities as far as I know. The builder did state in the covenants that they had a legal tight to cross my property meaning land on the side front and back, but not to run the gas line to three other units through my home. Am I right or wrong, and if wrong why.

Any comments appreciated

The inspectors made multiple errors and the town manager ordered the senior inspector not to talk to me,after my complaint to the town, on the last units ( which has four units to it) they did separate the gas and ran meter to each unit and tried not to make it obvious ( they failed at that) the town does not want to admit to anything because if I am right, and I think I am, then there are 100 units that need to be corrected and they want no part of that. Should I live with the threat of three other gas lines passing through my home and land that might leak causing an explosion? Could I tap into all three line and rob gas illegally,

Hi Charles...

I think this will go better over in the law section. I'll ask that the "powers that be" around here to move this over to legal so you will get your best answer. You may or may or may or get an answer tonight... check in later tonight and in the AM.. OK?

Is your building in direct contact with the other building? Was this inspected by a local plumbing/gas inspector? Have you talked to the local plumbing and/or building inspector? Let us know more.. OK?

You should remove your email and address and telephone number from your original question... not allowed here... ;)
