Hi, my name is Merissa.I am in 8th grade.I eat way too much salt.. I buy a food called pumpkin seeds and I eat the whole bag in one ,and they are very salty!I only drink pepsi.. I am not obese.I weigh about 85lbs.I rarely drink water.. I try very hard to ,but I just don't like it,and my salt obsession is crazy.I am also super stressed with a lot of things.I'm a pretty lazy person.I rarely exercise, exscept for when I'm learning dances. When I run for a little I have to stop and catch my breath.I don't know if it would matter ,because I'm still only in 8th grade, but I still want to be sure ,nobody really talks about it to me.Sorry,I just really wanted to ask some other people..

It sounds like you are unhealthy how tall are you? Depending on your height and weight shows more if you are healthy or not. Also if all you eat is pumpkin seeds and pepsi that is not very healthy, try drinking water again that is the best thing for you and eat wholesome meals. Do you eat enough evryday?

there's much more to it than just height and weight. You can be thin and still have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Aside from that, I agree that more wholesome meals and water would be good. And a better effort to exercise more regularly. Right now you might still be fairly healthy, you're still young. But if you don't develop healthier habits now, it'll be that much harder later on. And if you stay on the path you are now, with all of the junk food (things like ramen noodles and spaghetti-o's are OK now and then in moderation, but should not be a staple. And most cereals have little nutritional value.) and lack of exercise, you will definitely be unhealthy later on.

I would say that you are unhealthy from how you described yourself. When I was your age I was just like you. I ate unhealthy foods and rarely drank water. Although I was skinny, I still felt unfit and was always out of breath when running in gym. My metabolism caught up with me after a while and now I have to exercise and eat healthy foods to keep my weight down.

I think you probably are the same way. You might not look you are unhealthy, but your metabolism eventually will slow down and it may be harder to catch up with it again.

I think that trying a little harder to be healthy will help you get into the habit. Try changing small things. You can try putting crystal light in your water and switch to diet pepsi, buy the pumpkin seeds less often and eat less of it. Joining a sport in school or even participating a lot in gym can help you become more healthy.
