Cats should be encouraged to drink plenty of water and this should always be down with their food. I would be more concerned about what to feed your new kitten rather then if it drinks water or not.

At first the kitten will not know what it is and will get wet walking in it, but eventually learn to drink water.

As for food, buy a regular kitten food. Should be semi moist.

Yes, the kitten will drink water. On the same line, do NOT give the baby cow's milk. It can actually make cats sick. A little bit, every once in a while, is fine (by little bit, I mean letting the cat lick the milk out of an empty cereal bowl). Too much and your cat can end up with diarrhea, vomiting, and other unpleasant to clean up messes.

As tick said, you need to be giving the baby kitten food. Canned, if possible, for the next couple weeks. If you give him dry food, then you may need to wet it down with a little water to get him to eat.

Now, I have to address something. Baby animals should NOT be adopted out at 6 weeks. They need to be with mom until at least 8 weeks, and 12 is even better. Not only does it give them valuable time to become more fully weaned (I've never seen a 6 week old kitten fully weaned unless it was bottle-fed), but they need that time for socialization.

The extra time is needed for them to learn important lessons on what it means to be a cat. They learn to control how hard they bite and scratch by playing with their siblings. They learn to pounce and stalk and play with toys by watching their mother and siblings. They learn simple feline behaviors, like grooming and how to jump and sit and lay like a cat.

Yes, you may end up with a perfectly well-adjusted cat. You may also end up with a cat that's not quite sure how to be a cat.

Yes, I am Aware the Kittens Need Plenty Of baby Cat Food. At First I had Bought the 4 - 12 Months Old kitten Food Thinking It was Weeks. So I closely took another Look And Had Reilzed that It Was months So I Ran out And Bought Some other Food that had Said 1 - 4 Months Old And My Kitten Is 1 and a Half Months Old. So Im Thinking It should Be all right ( It had Only HAd A Can of it.) But I am Loving Having a Kitten And Aucally I had 1 Before And I have No Idea How Old It Was But Was Certain it Was a Kitten Now, So I Fed it The whiskas Cat MilkBecause It Was Still on The Mothers Milk But The Mom Died. So We Fed It The Cat Milk And Then They Started Dying. So I was Wondering If the Cat Milk Aucally Comes From A Cat.

Kitten replacement milk doesn't come from cats anymore than baby formula comes from humans.

I retract my earlier rant about kittens being adopted out too young. I'm just used to people thinking that at 6 weeks the babies should be fully weaned and ready to leave their family. I apologize for jumping to conclusions.
